Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras

CANON EF 100-400 F4.5-5.6L USM Review

This lens is great! It's my first L lens, after upgrading from the 75-300 F/4-5.5 IS USM lens. I must say the only drawback is that it's so heavy --- 3.1 lbs. BUT, because of the IS I'm able to take handheld pictures. The only way I could get sharp images tho, is by using a monopod/tripod. Of course that could just be me too.

Highly recommended. But if I were doing it all over again, I'd test the lens first at a local camera shop (rent one for a day or so) so I could get the hang of it before I went out shooting w/ mine.

I rate it 9/10!

Product Description

Through the special optical design and the targeted selection of optical glass, chromatic aberrations are virtually eliminated on the Distagon T 2/25. The effective correction of distortion and field curvature is attributable to the inclusion of two aspheric lens surfaces. The floating elements design ensures high quality across the entire image field. The Distagon T* 2/25 is practically distortion-free.

With outstanding image quality even at maximum aperture, the Distagon T 2/25 proves particularly advantageous in indoor photography without the use of a tripod even in difficult lighting conditions. With this lens, you can take wide-angle shots which look natural and dynamic at the same time, thanks to the large angle of view. Whatever the application, this lens goes beyond the bounds of creativity.

Zeiss 25mm f/2.0 Distagon T* ZE Series Manual Focus Lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras Review

You can never go wrong with a Zeiss. Design and construction is amazing. Love the weight and feel, but most of all the quality of glass.

Bushnell Elite Binoculars, 8x42mm Review

I think the optics are quite adequate. The unfortunate part is comparing them to the Bausch & Lomb Elites of years past. These lack the overall construction quality. The focusing knob squeeks while turning. It wobbles slightly on its axle. The diopter control is right next to the focusing knob (rather than on the eyepiece) and inevitably comes unstuck (a slide-to-lock) and the setting is off on its own again. Even the fabric webbing loops that to which the neck strap fastens are sadly inadequate. The buckle through which the webbing passes is not up to the task and slips slowly until the binoculars dive for the ground and I grab them by the strap. Just in time every time until I took the little loops apart and sewed them securely.

These are adequate but the name reminds me of a great line of binoculars and that is too bad.

Denon DN-D6000 Dual DJ CD and MP3 Player Review

I've owned my Denon DN-D6000 dual deck CD/MP3 player for about 6 months now, and I can do nothing but rave about it.

The build is top-quality and of only the sturdiest materials. The technology in these decks will not be surpassed for years to come. They feature digital coaxial connections to your mixer for richer, more robust sound as well as a special cable (not the typical round MIDI-like cable) that very securely connects the control unit to the player with a push-clip. The controls (push buttons) are firm yet precisely responsive and allow you to make quick adjustments to insure seamless mixing. The large jog wheel is a bit on the sensitive side... but I've honestly never heard anyone ever complain that their equipment was too darn good at doing EXACTLY what it was physically made to do (i.e., you can give the wheel too big of a nudge when making an adjustment and create yourself an instant train wreck.) These decks are slot loading -- no trays to worry about getting stuck, which makes for a much more dependable unit over time. From what I have read, these (Denon) decks are the only ones in the world that allow you to cue a song from the same CD (next track queuing... and the cross fade is user-adjustable). This deck also reads MP3 disks... a feature usually only available on competitor's highest trim players (Such as the Pioneer CDJ-1000 MKIII which costs HUNDREDS more than this deck and is only a single table top). Sampling and 4 effects are onboard and the firmware/software for the unit can be flashed/updated via CD-ROM. When playing an audio CD, you have 20 seconds of shock protection in case the CD player is jarred or moved (while dancing around in the DJ booth, for example). Shock protection varies with MP3 playback and is dependent upon whether the MP3 track is CBR or VBR. I'm thankfully unable to comment about service levels from the Denon Corporation and it's authorized agents because I haven't had the slightest problem.

I purchased mine for $679 plus $35 shipping -- so it's no wonder why I feel they are such an awesome value! (Actually, I would have probably gladly paid more!)

If you're considering buying a dual deck CD player look no further! The Denon name is synonymous with tag lines such as "Top Quality" and "Industry Standard" -- The DN-D6000 lives up to those and then some!

Very easy to put together and it came boxed in perfect condition. A beautiful piece of furnitrue with heavy glass doors. It matches our medium oak wood in our house perfectly. A great deal for the money. Worked out just right for our 60" flat screen.
