Ive been around the multicopter scene for a while. The DJI products are extremely simple to assemble and program. The computer based program is a breeze to see if your TX is setup properly. I have the F550 and love its performance and ability. I attached a Swann freestyle HD action camera to it and have a blast making videos. Keep in mind that these use alot of power so invest in some 4s high C 5000mah or greater batteries to get 9+ minutes of flight. The failsafe function is based on two things battery calibration for low battery landing and loss of signal. Make sure to have a TX that is compatible with failsafe systems. There is also a RTH (return to home) feature that uses its starting position as its home to land when the switch is triggered. Remember to balance your props pre flight , shaky props can cause weird issues with the gyros. Pre flight always let it acquire satellites before flight, this will be a flashing green sequence through the BEC unit. Enjoy and have fun.
