As an ex-Navy combat photographer, I can only say I wish that I'd had one of these babies back then. Quick and easy to master, it's a snap to shoot single-handed. No extra lenses to lug around. The single Leica 35mm to 420mm lens is all you'll ever need. Whether or not you shoot full auto or on automatic, the results are amazing!! I'm currently shooting ultra-sharp photos of sailboats on the open ocean at 16x magnification off the island of Maui. The camera stablization takes over and "shakes" are a thing of the past. Think what you could accomplish using it for sports photography!! It looks good, feels good, and it rivals anything in it's class for quality. I own Cannons and a Sigma SD-10.....there's no comparison! The Cannon digital Rebel SLR doesn't shoot movies but for the same price, this Leica does! Probably the reason you don't hear too much about this honey of a camera is that the stores have a ton of inventory they've got to sell and if everyone knew how this Leica stacked up against the competition....there'd be a lot of sad shop owners holding the bag. Leslie Dame MS-700B Sliding Glass Mission Style Door CD Storage Cabinet, Black Review

I bought two of these units to hold paperback books (and smaller hardback books). This cabinet looks fantastic when assembled.

1) This does NOT look like the typical fake wood. It has a hardwood covering so it looks like it is completely made of actual hardwood. It is very sturdy. This looks more like something you would get at a nicer furniture store or perhaps from Pottery Barn.

2) It is very simple to put together. I had this out of the box, put together, and everything cleaned up within an hour and a half, working by myself. It comes with all of the pieces and a small screwdriver to be used when putting in the glass panels- you need a normal screwdriver to do the rest. The instructions are very basic pictures, no real text, but it is so easy to figure out it is not a problem.

3) The packaging from this seller is amazing. It arrived looking quite beaten up, but it is double boxed and very well packaged. No damage to one of the units in any way (more on this later).

4) This is sold as a cabinet for dvds and cds. However, after doing some measuring, I purchased it to hold paperback books and smaller hardback books. It is the perfect size. Normal bookshelves are much too deep for these smaller books and you end up with a lot of wasted space on the shelf. I wanted a more shallow unit for the hallway upstairs and this is perfect.

5) The front doors do make the unit slightly heavier toward the front, but if you put larger/heavier items or the leftover shelves in the bottom of the unit there is no danger of it tipping over during normal use. I had 8 shelves left over for each unit, so I stacked 4 shelves in the bottom of each side. It raises my books up higher so I can see them easier and helps with the stability of the unit.
You might have a concern if you have small children in your home, in which case you should anchor the unit to the wall.

Now- even though the packaging is great, one of the units did arrive damaged. A side panel had a split in it and the glass for one of the doors was completely shattered. Since the packaging is so good I think it more likely that this happened during packing and not during shipping, but who knows. I have contacted the seller about this and will update as to the customer service for replacement of these pieces.

All in all, I highly recommend this product. It is the best quality furniture item I have ordered online and well worth the price paid.

***UPDATE: Today I received the replacement parts for my second cabinet, this time nothing was damaged at all AND they sent two extra panes of glass so now I have extra in the event one gets broken. All free of charge. I got a reply from the seller less than an hour after contacting them, and shipment confirmation the next day. UPS took their time delivering it, but that is not the seller's fault. Highly recommend this seller (AVthing in its Place) AND the product.

Must totally disagree with Previous comment about hardware and software.

BUT,

We can attest to the fact that the set instructions are literally NIL, ZERO, NONE, NADA, BUPKIS etc!...and "ZILCH!"

We are VERY tech savvy here, but found ourselves on two long tech calls with Netgear tech support. One for an hour, one for 20 minutes to set up the unit.

Starting the setup required a total re-set with new drives which was fine, but we had to get a tiny paper clip inside the typical tiny reset hole and hold it for 10 seconds while powering the unit on. Not complicated but a real pain in the _as when this thing is on a shelf filled with drives and you need to reach behind it.

BUT

After the re-set, the unit did it's think in building the array of 6 4TB Seagate ST4000DX drives.

The unit has a touch panel in the front an no knobs or switches, so until you realize that the "PRESS the OK BUTTON", means tap the screen to make it appear along with it's halo of arrows North South East and West, you are gonna feel like you are on Candid Camera.

Same with the Hard drive "release buttons" which are tiny slide switches in the front and need to be held down while the lock releases are in one position ( I forgot if it is closed or open)..Once you do one, you are good to go for the others..again...Think Candid Camera.

Software is Web-based and addressable.

It is not intuitive,

BUT,

Once you go thru the settings and folder creations and renaming, it DOES MAKE SENSE...Just a bit different than Synology or Thecus.

Unit is QUALITY built and quiet.

Expensive is relative, but Tech support was absolutely, positively top notch ..with Foreign based techs who cn speak and understadn the English Language. if only with a monor accent.

Support is great.

We recommend this unit and are buying additional ones as well as the expansion chassis's

I recently decided I was going to purchase a new TV. I went online and spent a lot of time researching everything. It seemed like the Samsung UNC8000 was a well liked set by most reviewers. It is a edge lit LEd set with the added feature of local backlight control.

So I go to BB to look at this set. I'm in a relatively bright area and I see flashlights in the bottom corners. No guessing where the light source is located. I think to myself, "self, how terrible will this look in lower light?" So I go into the Magnolia room and spot the Samsung UNC9000, the flagship. Really beaytiful looking set. Turn it on and it is flashlighting also. I ask the guy to turn on the other TV in the room. We are watching Beowolf and the scene goes black. The Samsung turns dark gray with corner flashlights and the other TV goes pitch black. I can't tell the bezel apart from the screen. "Oh my God!", I said, asking what TV I was looking at. Turns out it was the Sony HX909. I didn't remember reading much about it. More about the PQ. Gorgeous is all I can say. The colors were dead on. The trumpet in Beowulf was gold like a trumpet should be. Turn around and it is dull yellow on the Samsung. The dark blacks of the Sony create so much contrast that all you can say is Wow! I really tried to get the Samsung to match the Sony. I lowered the backlighting, made sure it was in cinema mode and that it had its backlight control on. It still looked terrible compared to the Sony. I then tried to make the Sony look bad. I put it in torch mode and there was no flashlighting and it was still pretty impressive.

So I knew I needed to research a little more. Turns out what separates this set from the masses is its full array back lighting. Said another way, Most sets use LED lighting along the sides. This allows for cheaper manufacturing costs and thinner profiles with the downside of poor screen uniformity and annoying flashlights and waterfalls of bright light on a dark screen. The backlit sets puts the LEDs in the back behind the display. This adds the benefit of a more uniform appearance and much better black levels. The only downside I have heard of with these is the cost and halos around bright objects on dark backgrounds. Last year several manufacturers made full array sets. Samsung made the UNB8500, which cnet rated as one of the best sets they ever tested. Now all they make are edgelits. It seems that Sony, LG, and Vizio are the only makers left. Rumor has it that Sony is getting out of the game. Having seen the two technologies side by side, The full arrays are worth every penny. Better get one while you can as it looks like the manufacturers are taking a step backwards in PQ and focusing more on thinner, gadgets, and 3D. I guess that they are too expensive to make and thus hard to market and sell.

I have not seen the Vizio. The LG 9500 IMO is a really nice set but did not have as nice of blacks as the Sony. For the Sony...Televisioninfo.com rates this TV very highly except for its MSRP of $3,500. Cnet also rated it very good, criticizing it for some blue tones on black and also for its price. My set is calibrated (You can get very good settings for free off of AVS forums) and I see no blue tones on black. If you look around you can find this set for $2,300 online, which in my opinion makes the best LED out there at a good value.
