Offering a circular beam angle up to 100 degrees and with guide number of 20 the YS-01 is a new compact slave strobe that can be used for all underwater applications, from wide-angle to macro photography. You can switch between DS-TTL (Digital Slave TTL) and the ten-step manual control function to enable fine adjustment of the light output level. You can also set up a lighting system that uses two strobes in DS-TTL mode!

Power comes from four AA batteries for a powerful and long-lasting strobe so you can enjoy taking pictures all day long without having to recharge the batteries. The strobes recycle time is 1.9 seconds when using nickel-metal hydride batteries (2700 mAh) for stress-free continuous shooting.

The YS-01 is furnished with a high-luminance white LED target light (1W) which indicates the optical axis of the attached strobe and is effective for night diving.

I use it with a compact camera and Ikelite housing. Performed flawlessly on week long scuba dive trip. Three dives on one set of batteries! Great light color with variable intensity. Has focus light that can be turned on and off for overcast days or night dives. Great strobe if you only want to have one strobe and want a compact kit. Recommend ultra-light adjustable arms over the flex arm since strobe head is heavy and tends to "drift" on flex arm.
