Vortex has become known as a company that brings better than class performance for a great price. Their PST line is made in the Philippines, which is common and makes some great glass and optics for other companies too. The PST differs from the HD line in that they have illuminated reticles. The HD line is both made and assembled in Japan and has glass as good as any company near its price range. The SWFA SS line is also assembled in Japan and has been a class leader for many years.

This scope is a bit of a tank, big, strong, somewhat overbuild. For certain shooters this is exactly what they are looking for, a scope that can take some abuse and shrug it off. You pay for that with some added weight but its up to you as a shooter to determine your needs.

As stated the glass and build quality are fantastic. The adjustments are clean, crisp and accurate. Box drills with adjustments were a none issue. The reticle was well within accurate measurements and the 2% difference in my scope isn't enough for me to worry about on a 4x scope. The reticle is well thought out and is a MIL reticle with .1 MRAD adjustments. This means that I don't need to convert a MIL reticle into MOA to make an adjustment which is a time saver.
