I use this for my computer audio system. It took a little bit of time and effort to locate and install the correct drivers from NuForce. However, once I'd installed the drivers, the sound with my HiFiMan HE-500 headphones, is magical.

I never intended this system to rival my main system, but the combination of NuForce Home Reference DAC-100 and headphone amp with HiFiMan HE-500 headphones, is even better than the headphone sound of my main sustem with the same headphones.

So I'd say this is a huge success with good headphones. I'm running this DAC / headphone amp with the NuForce STA-100 amplifier and poor speakers. The speakers are so poor I can't evaluate its characteristics other than the sound through the headphones. Which is phenomenal.
