I purchased this camera for producing professional video. At first I was really not sure as this is a type style (DVHD Mini) recorder. Its features are extensive and the quality of the glass is just flat outstanding! Ease of use is somewhat difficult at first. Understanding the plethora of settings in this camera are a challenge but the benefits outweigh the learning curve. This unit is heavy and large be ready for it. A very heavy duty tripod is highly recommended. Don't skimp in this area. The audio mixing capabilities for gain adjustments can be operated manually or full auto for the duel XLR mic ports. This unit also has built in ND filters for condition changes in the field. But I think one of the main features I purchased this unit for was the ability for skin detail function color and range tone adjustments in the camera.

There are a few draw backs with this unit; stock batteries just don't make it. My recommendation for an addition here is an Anton Bauer battery system. They are expensive but well worth the investment. Finally I would also recommend a DTE recorder which will record directly from your camera by-passing the need for tape and record digitally to the DTE hard drive. Recommend the Focus FireStore DR-HD100 which is specifically designed for this specific camera and works flawlessly. This is a real time saver in post-production.
