The LW-97W PL is our large rolling organizer, built to hold a variety of video or photo lighting kits: it fits 2-3 flash units or monoblocs, a pro power unit and lighting stands, or 3-4 large spot lights and up to 4 lighting stands (depending on their sizes). This case is designed to withstand harsh use in any environment and incorporates Kata's signature Lightweight Protection technologies and materials to guarantee the highest level of protection in the lightest case to date. Kata Rolling Organizer KT PL-LW-97W Review

About six months ago, I bought the FlyBy 75 camera case, and put my 5D3 and collection of L lenses in it. I had been immensely impressed by all the features and quality of that bag.

So, when I started collecting some studio-type gear (stands, lighting), I immediately turned back to Kata to see what they had in the appropriate bag.

This bag is breath-takingly expensive, but it you are looking for a good long-term investment type of bag, this is it.

This bag, for those of you who haven't owned a Kata product, is highly engineered, synthetic bag, with weight/heft where it's absolutely needed, and lightness where you don't. This bag is large and heavy-duty enough to easily hold the advertised medium-sized light stands, monolights or other gear, and still only weigh 13 pounds.

The interior is a very bright yellow... your first thought is probably "that's too flashy" but it's a GREAT feature here, the bright/light color means you can easily find that lost stud/screw, and also tell when it's getting dirty. You'll love it.

The bag itself is split into one long compartment meant to hold several mid-sized stands, such as Kata's sister company's stands, the Manfrotto 1052BAC. There's velcro straps to keep the stands from floating over to the other side of the bag when traveling/rolling. The other side of the bag houses a series of movable dividers (all good-quality velcro), that's meant to house a set of monolights, or whatever else you desire. I'm using the compartments for random small stuff (I use several of Canon's radio/wireless speedlites, the 600EX-RTs). In addition to the compartments, there's a set of three different-sized pouches, also secured by velcro, to use as you please. The bag is a roller, with bumpers all the way around, and a soft handle to roll with. There's no extendable handle, and in this size bag, you don't need one... also a bonus here, because this bag doesn't have to make room in the bottom for the tubes for the handle, unlike my FlyBy 75.

Overall, the bag exudes quality and thoughtfulness, which in my opinion overcomes the ludicrous pricing of the bag.
