Panasonic AGHMR10PJ Compact AVCCAM Field Recorder/Player (Black) Review

Only production MTS solid-state field recorder with a AVCHD MTS compression at this time - October 2013. The device is well made and quite robust. It is quite a robust recorder in that the design that can recover a file even after a power disruption. We use these recorders for turn-key multi-channel gyrostablilized gimbals used in aerial patrol of critical infrastructure. Design is well protected from high power external radios. A good value in our opinion.

Dislikes - The SD card choice is limited to 32GB. max.. we need more. We have found the audio design to be a bit wanting and we do not understand why they have disabled 1080p on the HD-SDI connection - the best 1080 configuration via the HD SDI is interlace at 50 or 60fps. The best progressive configuration on HD-SDI is 720p-60. If you need 1080p at 24, 50 or 60 fps these frame rates are only available via the paired use of the matching POV camera. We really like the embedded screen for set-up and review but its performance in sunlight is wanting... requires additional of sunshade.
