Yamaha TSX-132BL Desktop Audio System (Black) Review

I use this for a great sounding alarm radio in my bedroom. I originally looked at the TSX-130 with dual alarms. That was an important feature to me. I bought this with the "smart alarm" technology and I wish I could find a black TSX-130. This one will be sold off on eBay as I was remiss on the return policy.

This is a great sounding machine with a deal breaking caveat- a 5 minute, non changeable snooze. The 130 also has a 5 minute snooze but there are 2 separate alarms to program.

I'm coming from a Boston Acoustics Duo which was almost the ultimate bedroom radio for me with an on the fly adjustable snooze by tapping the body circling snooze bar for each 10 minutes. The sound had some issues with an iPod docked at low volumes- the low volume buzz for those that had it, but it was acceptable and the ergonomics for programming on the body were unsurpassed.

I have a new Wave radio which I can only program through the remote and it still hasn't left the box. I was thinking of buying a second BA as they seem to have a lifespan of 2-2.5 years but they were only available in kitchen white for a while and now not at all. I keep a Bluetooth connector in the dock for my iPod and use a Squeezebox to connect to my thousands of MP3s. 2 inputs- retro style. The BA was a joy-almost.

Any recommendations of the next great dual alarm radio. One last thing-if you don't care about dual alarm and just sound, the TSX-132 may be your machine,
